Cuba Against Guatemala: Last Chance for South Africa 2010

Cuba will enter the soccer field this Tuesday to try to keep alive its possibilities of qualifying to South Africa 2010 World Cup, against Guatemala in the Pedro Marrero Stadium in Havana City.

This is the second game between the two squads in the CONCACAF eliminatory, where Cuba has lost its three previous games against Guatemala, US (twice) and Trinidad and Tobago.

Cuba’s new DT Raul Gonzalez Triana will make its debut tonight after Franz Reinghold was demoted from the Cuban selection. Cuba needs to beat both Guatemala and Trinidad and Tobago to have some mathematical chances of qualifying, depending also in the US squad beating one of them.

Roberto Linares, Cuban best player, will return from a red card, giving Cuban attack more power. Unfortunately for the Cubans they won’t be able to use the services of defender Reysander Fernandez and midfielder Joel Colome, for yellow card accumulation.
